Alaska Airlines Unveils New Nonstop Flights from San Diego to Phoenix, Chicago O’Hare, and Denver Starting August 2025 - Travel And Tour World (2025)

Alaska Airlines is expanding its reach in San Diego by introducing new nonstop routes, increasing the frequency of existing flights, and enhancing overall connectivity to offer more convenient travel options for our guests. Beginning August 20, we will launch year-round nonstop service between San Diego and Phoenix, followed by new routes to Chicago O’Hare and Denver starting October 4. Each of these routes will feature three daily flights.

Additionally, on October 26, we will ramp up service on some of the most popular routes from San Diego, boosting flight frequencies by at least 50%. This means six daily nonstop flights to Las Vegas, Sacramento, and San Jose, California, along with three daily flights to Salt Lake City. Tickets for these new routes are available for purchase now at alaskaair.com, with expanded schedules going on sale this weekend.

San Diego travelers will also benefit from our Mileage Plan, the award-winning loyalty program that allows guests to earn and redeem miles on more than 65% of international flights to Europe and Asia via our oneworld partners at San Diego International Airport.

As the only national airline headquartered on the West Coast, Alaska Airlines has proudly served California for over 40 years. With these new routes, combined with the offerings from our partner Hawaiian Airlines, we will now provide 44 nonstop destinations from San Diego—more than any other airline at the airport—and offer over 90 peak-day departures. These destinations span the East Coast, Northwest, California, Mexico, Florida, and all four major Hawaiian Islands.

The merger with Hawaiian Airlines is allowing us to expand our network further, providing seamless connections through more than 1,650 daily flights this summer. Together with our oneworld partners, we offer one-stop service from San Diego to over 330 destinations worldwide.

As part of our ongoing commitment to Southern California, Alaska Airlines also began daily nonstop flights between San Diego and Washington Reagan National in March 2025, becoming the only carrier offering this direct route. Before this, San Diego was the largest U.S. airport without direct service to Washington Reagan National.

For a limited time, new members of our Mileage Plan loyalty program from California and Hawai’i can receive a $50 discount on their next flight after enrollment, while those from other states can enjoy a $25 discount. To take advantage of this offer, new members must book their flights within 28 days of joining and travel within 90 days.
